Welcome to Double Z Hot Rods

Meet Our Team:

Greg Zulim

Greg is the sole reason Double Z Hot Rods exists. Greg also farms tree fruit, but when he scaled his operation back he was open to new business ideas. Building hot rods for customers was not his plan, it happened by accident. Greg has built and painted many cars throughout his life. When his 31 model A won its class at the Grand National Roadster Show the word got around about what he could do with a hot rod. Individuals began to approach Greg and Russell asking about prices, they had no idea what to do so they decided to start their hot rod shop. Eventually the fruit packing sheds became hot rod shops. Many tools were bought and a paint booth was set up in one of the shops. Greg now plans on adding on with an old style gas station and assembly room for painted vehicles. Greg can do absolutely anything around the shop, and do it great. He knows an extreme amount about classic Detroit cars and whenever Jimmy and Russ are stuck about what to do during a build they just ask him and the answer becomes clear.

Russell Zulim

Russell Zulim is Greg's middle son. Greg and Russell started this business in 2006. Russell loves to work on hot rods and is great with his hands. Just like Greg and Jimmy, he can do any job that a restoration or customization requires. He fabricates, welds, uses the english wheel, does body work, can lay out flames, pinstripes, and even paints. Russell enjoys learning as much as he can from the wealth of knowledge that Greg and Jimmy represent. Russell got his bachelors from Westmont College in 2007. He then went on to receive his Masters from Fresno Pacific University and did his thesis on the ever changing Hot Rod Industry. He has been working on cars since high school and has made a career out of it. The love of hot rods is just too difficult to turn down.

Jimmy Teague

Jimmy Teague has been working with cars most of his life. Jimmy owned his own paint and customization shop for years, The Hot Rod Shop, and was also a police officer in Fresno. Fate eventually brought Greg, Russell, and Jimmy together at Double Z. Jimmy painted Russell's truck for him in 2002 when Russ was in High school and painted Greg's youngest son Darren's 39 ford for him in high school. Jimmy is a very very talented individual when it comes to working with cars. Jimmy is known for being a great painter and body man. He has painted countless hot rods, race cars, and customs. Jimmy is a drag racer and therefore has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to tuning and building motors. He is also a great fabricator and does most of the wiring at the shop.
